Hi, I’m Rachel Zorel,  Founder and Creative Director of 7 Layer Studio. I live in South Orange with my husband and four kids.

• Where is it located? 58 Vose Avenue, South Orange

• What is it? Branding + design agency 

• Who is it for? Bold brands who believe in the power of design, the strength of strategy, and the desire to be exceptional

How many years have you been in business?

7 Layer Studio was founded in 2017. Previously, I worked independently as a graphic designer for over 10 years.

What excites you the most about what you do?

Creative problem-solving and working with great people. I love helping companies hatch an idea and bring it to life through thoughtful solutions that live in the creative intersection of passion and process.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and envisioned someday starting my own business. I began freelancing as a designer in my early 20’s and slowly learned the business from there. 

What are 3 things that contribute to a successful work day?

Structure, snacks and collaboration.

What’s something that’s surprised you about running your own business?

It’s forever a work in progress.
